DESCRIPTION:Owing to the Excessive Heat Warning\, there will be no free biking on July 6. \nThis FREE two-hour Learn to Ride class teaches participants how to ride a bicycle.  This class is perfect for those who have never ridden a bike or who may need a refresher. \nStaff and volunteers will teach participants how to: \n·        Balance \n·        Pedaling techniques \n·        Starting and stopping \n·        Steering and shifting gears \nYou can bring your own bike and helmet or rent a bike and helmet for free at the class.  This class is for individuals ages 16 and up For individuals younger than this age range\, check out our Learn to Ride for kids! \nRegistration in advance is required. LBJ will host mini versions of our skillshare workshops including what’s in your go/grow bag\, DIY bug spray\, how to pitch a tent\, edible wild plants\, carpentry\, meditation\, and a self-defense Q&A. \nThe way we heal\, get free\, and stay safe is together so come through to skill build with us. It’s still “stay ready so you ain’t gotta get ready” but with love and good vibes. \nMessage from the organizers: \nThe block party where we hone in on many of the skills and lessons highlighted in Octavia Butler’s books is just days away! We heal\, thrive\, and stay safe is together so come through to skill build with us.
